Yet Anakin's fall to the dark side placed young Ani Kenobi painfully between the two men he loved most. The song is "Rock and Roll Hell" by Kiss. --This is the most challenging vid that I've done to date, and probably the most "AU" of the AU vids. It's somewhat experimental and maybe a little psychedelic due to the nature of Ani's Force visions. HQ version will hopefully be up sometime this fall. In an overview looking at where we were headed and what we wanted to do I was not quite expecting this and had to think hard for a few minutes. And looking back at my reply I am not altogether happy with the one I gave. I mean, how much is enough, or what is a right answer? Certainly my response gave some keys to what I was thinking. And if there was no limit to what you could earn, what would your answer be? How can this be you ask? How could there be no limit to what I could earn? In those questions lies the rub. Here we look into our own preconceptions about the universe, what it is and our place in it. Do we, or have we set limits both on what is possible and what we ourselves can achieve? And does that explain where we are today? To read people who have thoughts on this, we do box ourselves in with the boundary conditions of our thinking. And this has been a slowly cultured process for most of us. As children we tended to have these unlimited dreams. Slowly over time we are educated out of this, initially by others and then by ourselves. How? Language One way is in the language we were exposed to. The "we can't afford it" expression, "what do you think I am: made of money", "money doesn't grow on trees", "you have to work hard for money" etc. Most of us (surely all of us) have grown up with these expressions or a variation of them most of our lives. Heard repeatedly they tend to have the effect of becoming established truths. Soon we cannot imagine a world outsode of these confines. So we limit ourselves to them. Modeling What we see our parents and friends doing in relation to money also affects us. The way we were raised tends to almost put a recording inside of us. We follow these patterns that were modeled for us by those we respected and had to answer to. For some people this was a limitation in expecting money, being able to meet the bills, or own a house, or to do so without a a struggle. Or some were raised in situations where it was either boom or bust as the parents' business went through these cycles. And we can either acquiesce to these situations and reproduce them in our own lives or rebel against them and head in the other direction. But depending on our motivation even this latter response can have either positive or negative effects. Our Efforts Then as we enter the workforce and begin to earn money our experience can further shape our mindset and expectations. We can find our wages fixed, or our prospects limited no matter how long we stay in the company or industry. And if we still nurse those childhood dreams what do we do? Usually we tend to lower our expectations and dreams to match our income. We are "being realistic". We have come "down to earth". For some though there is a challenge to look for something better. Either looking at multiple jobs or entering network marketing people head off into a bright new hope. Then what happens? They find they are not succeeding. Or maybe getting to a certain level but then no further. Un sacco di canzoni tra cui a e i o u, bandiera gialla, stasera mi butto, vorrei la pelle nera ecc.! Umberto Smaila nasce a Verona il 26 Giugno 1950, diventando poi, agli inizi degli anni '70 Milanese d'"adozione". A 10 anni si esibisce con successo nei suoi primi concerti. I Romantici sono il suo forte, soprattutto Chopin e Liszt. Dopo aver conseguito la Maturità Classica al liceo "Maffei", sotto la guida del prof. Gino Barbesi, uno dei massimi grecisti contemporanei, nonchè critico cinematografico del giornale l'Arena di Verona, partecipa alla filodrammatica della città e suona in diversi gruppi Beat (Verona Beat!), e fonda una formazione artistica teatrale chiamata Studio 24, (24artisti!) dal cui ridimensionamento nasceranno i futuri Gatti. Si iscrive alla Facoltà di Legge dell'Università di Bologna che lascerà in seguito per affrontare il mitico palcoscenico del Derby Club di Milano assieme ai suoi celebri compagni di viaggio: Jerry Calà, Franco Oppini e Nini Salerno: I Gatti di Vicolo Miracoli. Il gruppo così formato si scioglierà soltanto dopo 17 anni di successi indimenticabili. Continua la carriera come solista e dopo alcune positive esperienze come attore cinematografico, è conduttore di innovative e fortunate trasmissioni tv come "Drive In" su Italia 1 (1985-1986), "Non Stop" su Rai Uno (1987), "C'est la vie" su Canale 5 (1987- 1989), "Babilonia" su Canale 5 (1989-1990), "Colpo Grosso" su Italia 7 (1988-1992),"La Sai L'Ultima" su Canale 5 (1997), "I Fatti Vostri" su Rai Due (2001-2002), "Buona Domenica" su Canale 5. Con la sua band cura per due anni (1993-1994) la parte musicale di "Buona Domenica". Nel 1995 con un indice di notorietà di 89.6 arriva a essere tra i 4 personaggi più conosciuti e apprezzati d'Italia (gli altri tre sono splendide donne come Mara Venier, Alba Parietti, Valeria Marini). E proprio con Mara che Umberto cura la parte musicale del programma "Ciao Mara" su Canale 5. Di Umberto Smaila si può dire che si sia cimentato in tutti i campi dello spettacolo. Nel 1982 ha curato la regia cinematografica di "Italian Boys" di cui è stato naturalmente anche protagonista e autore delle musiche. Alla fine degli anni '90 è stato anche D.J. di successo nel programma radiofonico "Hit Parade" di RTL 102,5. Su Telemontecarlo è stato anche conduttore di un Talk Show intitolato "Turno di notte". Nel 2000 poi è stato apprezzato attore di cinema quale protagonista del film di Alessandro Benvenuti "I miei più cari amici". Non va dimenticato il Teatro dove nella stagione 1991-1992 è stato protagonista del musical "Fred", ispirato alla vita di Buscaglione, con la regia di Gino Landi su testi di Umberto Simonetta e Italo Terzoli. Musicista e autore musicale, ha scritto più di 20 colonne sonore per film di successo. La sua attività di intrattenitore è diventata così apprezzata da far si che la cosiddetta "musica dal vivo" sia uscita dagli spazi tradizionali dei locali o dei "music-hall", per approdare a "locations" più grandi, quali palazzetti dello sport e piazze. In questo senso memorabili sono stati i due concerti che Umberto Smaila ha tenuto in occasione del Capodanno del 2000 a Cagliari (150.000 persone), e quello del 2002 ad Alghero (65.000 persone). Attualmente è richiestissimo ospite in tutte le più note trasmissioni tv e radio, e (naturalmente) suona e canta con la sua band nei più importanti e famosi locali italiani ed esteri. Nel 2005 è stato ospite fisso delle ultime due edizioni di Buona Domenica, che insieme alle numerose partecipazioni al "Maurizio Costanzo Show" ne hanno esaltato le doti di coinvolgimento del pubblico.Attualmente continuano le sue numerose apparizioni televisive, che sono culminate, nella notte di S. Silvestro 2006, nella conduzione, con Roberta Capua, della serata musicale il Capodanno di canale 5, in collegamento dal Palavela di Torino, con la partecipazione di ospiti illustri quali Andrea Bocelli e i più grandi pattinatori sul ghiaccio del mondo. Dal 1991 anima le serate estive nel locale più celebrato della Costa Smeralda, lo Smaila's di Poltu Quatu. Nel 2001 ha inaugurato in Egitto il nuovo Smaila's di Sharm El Sheikh, diventato in pochi mesi il locale più famoso del Mar Rosso, e dal 2005 lo si incontra spesso al nuovissimo Smaila's di Campoverde tra Latina e Roma, e da Maggio 2008 anche al nuovo Smaila's di Sestri Levante (Ge). Ad Aprile 2008, inoltre, Umberto Smaila ha inaugurato il primo music live club galleggiante d'Europa, a bordo della Curuise Roma - Grimaldi by Smaila's, che unisce in una mini crociera l'Italia alla Spagna, navigando nelle acque del Mediterraneo. In questo ultimo periodo mentre si stanno allestendo altri Smaila's in giro per il mondo, di prossima apertura: Martinsicuro (Te), le offerte numerose e l'unicità della sua attitudine (suona, compone, canta, recita) lo pongono costantemente all'attenzione degli operatori del settore. |
