"All these signatures are valued" djhbrown 3 mn - 17 mai 2008
www.petitionmondialepourlapaix.org
Just tell 7 more people; it's enough...if it only happens once a month, there are still 4 years left...7 to the power 48 is quite a lot....
This is not spam. (It's not even fake spam http://djhbrown.googlepages.com/fakeSpam.htm)
It's honest outreach, about a serious subject.
Roland'o is - seriously! - trying to get 1,500,000,000 signatures for a petition saying, simply,
"I Want Peace on Earth"
to the UN by 2012 and the only way that has hope in hell of happening is by the exponential growth of people passing it on
You may not think it could ever happen and it's not worth wasting your time on. If everybody else thinks like that, it probably won't happen. He has oinly got 60,000 signatures so far, largely through personal contact during his "Peace Walk" over the last 4 years. I once took his petition to a (largely expatriate) social club. After the first person refused to sign, the others followed suit, evidence that Shakespeare's observation (mentioned in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTaP5jQv2KI) is as true today as it was in 1640 or whenever it was that he wrote Hamlet.
Do you know anyone who has stepped on a landmine?
Have you ever been deceived by a politician?
Are you happy that wars and skirmishes - and local squabbles and storms in teacups - are going on all around you, largely initiated by and for for the benefit of conmen, xenophobes, megalomaniacs and - last, but not least - army suppliers? (sure, it's not in your backyard) ....if so, welcome to the machine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welcome_to_the_Machine
If you think grassroots movers should be mown down, then your consent has been manufactured.

MANUFACTURING CONSENT: NOAM CHOMSKY AND THE MEDIA | LA FABRIQUE DU CONSENTEMENT : NOAM CHOMSKY ET LES M DIAS | Canada - 1992 - 168 mn | R alisation : Mark ACHBAR et Peter WINTONICK | Manufacturing Consent is a documentary film that explores the political life and ideas of Noam Chomsky, a linguist, intellectual, and political activist. Created by two Canadian independent filmmakers, it expands on the ideas of Chomsky's earlier book, Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media, which he co-wrote with Edward S. Herman. The film presents and illustrates Chomsky's and Herman's propaganda model, the thesis that corporate media, as profit-driven institutions, tend to serve and further the agendas of the interests of dominant, elite groups in the society. | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noam_Chomsky | http://www.chomsky.info | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manufacturing_Consent:_Noam_Chomsky_and_the_Media Manufacturing Consent [VOST]
